Ticket Types
Adult, Child, Student and Disabled Military Tickets are available. Child Ticket must be bought together with Adult Ticket. Passengers should sit according to their seat number.
Adult Ticket
Passengers aged 14 or above
Child Ticket1
Passengers aged 6 but below 14. Ages of the children are calculated based on the date of travel. A child who is aged below 6 may travel free, provided that he/she is accompanied by a passenger aged 18 or above and does not need to occupy an additional seat. The valid identification document of the child must be provided upon ticket purchase. In the event that more than one child is travelling with a single adult holding a ticket, Child Ticket(s) shall be bought for the additional child(ren). Any child who is eligible for free travel occupies a seat, a Child Ticket shall be bought for him/her. The Implemented Fare for Child Tickets are priced at a discounted rate based on the Implemented Fare for Adult Tickets, 50% for Second and First Class, 80% for Premium, Premium First and Business Class, and 70% for berths.
Student Ticket1
Students enrolled in any higher education institutions in Chinese Mainland can purchase Student Tickets using their student cards which their institutions' stamps affixed, together with the Train Ticket Student Discount Cards, for travel Second Class , First Class and berths on trains between their home and the locations of their institutions (or the place where they are undertaking an internship). Each eligible student shall be entitled to purchase Student Tickets for only four single journeys each academic year (1 October to 30 September the following year). Newly enrolled students shall use their confirmation of enrollment while fresh graduates shall use their institutions’ written proof to purchase Student Tickets once. Where the maximum number of purchase is not made during any academic year, the remainder cannot be carried forward to the next academic year. The Implemented Fare for Student Tickets will be 75% of the Implemented Fare for Adult Tickets.

Disabled Military Ticket1
Disabled Military Tickets (for all classes of travel) are available for purchase by holders of a valid Certificate for Disabled Military of the People's Republic of China, Certificate of the People's Republic of China for Disabled Policemen or Certificate for State Integrated Fire and Rescue Team Disabled Members. The Implemented Fare for Disabled Military Tickets will be approximately half of the Implemented Fare for Adult Ticket.

1When the Implemented Fare of an Adult Ticket is not less than 40% of the Published Fare, the minimum fare for a concessionary Ticket is 40% of the Published Fare for the corresponding type of seat. When the Implemented Fare of an Adult Ticket is less than 40% of the Published Fare, the fare for a concessionary Ticket is based on the Implemented Fare of an Adult Ticket.
