Mainland Domestic Tickets are for the journeys between Mainland stations. For example, a journey from Hong Kong to Xi'an requires a "Hong Kong – Zhengzhoudong" Cross Boundary Ticket and a "Zhengzhou – Xi'anbei" Mainland Domestic Ticket.

Besides, Mainland Domestic Ticket is available at Ticketing Counters operated by China Railway (Hong Kong) Holdings Ltd. at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. Service fees will be applied as below:

1 Paper tickets can still be used in a limited number of Mainland stations. If you buy these tickets through 12306 online ticketing platform and plan to collect them at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, please use the Reimbursement Receipt Collection Machines. Alternatively, you can collect the ticket at the designated Ticketing Counters operated by China Railway (Hong Kong) Holding Ltd. with a service fee similar to ticket purchase. The Reimbursement Receipt Collection Machines only accept original Home Return Permit, PRC Resident Identity Card and Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents

After-sales Services

After-sales services of Mainland Domestic Tickets are slightly different from Cross Boundary Tickets. For details, please visit www.12306.cn.

Alterations and refunds can be processed on www.12306.cn, China Railway 12306 mobile app, or at the designated Ticketing Counters at Mainland stations. Holders of PRC Resident Identity Card can also process refund at Ticket Machines in selected Mainland stations.

Besides, you may also alter or refund your tickets via designated Ticketing Counters operated by China Railway (Hong Kong) Holdings Ltd. at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. The transaction will be settled with RMB. Service fees for each altered ticket is HKD20.

Reimbursement Receipt

You can collect a Reimbursement Receipt from the Reimbursement Receipt Collection Machines or Ticketing Counters (with service fee similar to ticket purchase) at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, or Ticket Machines and designated Ticketing Counters in Mainland stations either before you travel or within 180 days of the date of travel. The Reimbursement Receipt Collection Machine only accepts three original personal identification documents including Home Return Permit, PRC Resident Identity Card and Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents.

  • We suggest you collect your Reimbursement Receipt completion of your train journey. If a Receipt is collected before you travel, tickets cannot be altered on the 12306 online ticketing platform and the refund procedure will also be affected
  • Reimbursement Receipt is not a proof for travel and cannot be used to board the train

Note:

  1. Tickets paid for in cash must be altered at designated Ticketing Counters at stations
  2. If you have collected the Reimbursement Receipt, you should return it upon ticket alteration or refund
  3. 12306 registered users who have collected the Reimbursement Receipt, please bring the Receipt to the designated Ticketing Counters at stations for ticket alteration with their personal identification documents used to buy the tickets
  4. If you bought ticket by cash or have collected the Reimbursement Receipt, please process the refund at Ticketing Counters. Besides, 12306 registered users who have already passed facial verification on the app can first apply for refunds on the 12306 online ticketing platform, then bring their original identification documents used to buy the tickets to any station within 180 days from the processing date to collect the refunded amount. Reimbursement Receipt must be returned upon fare refund at station
  5. Paper tickets are still be used in limited number of Mainland stations. Please check the after-sales service from www.12306.cn.

Passengers travelling on the High Speed Rail shall comply with the requirements under applicable laws and regulations (including Hong Kong laws or Mainland China laws) and the Conditions of Issue of Tickets. Cross-boundary passengers shall comply with the Rules for Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail Cross-Boundary Passenger Transport, and all notices posted at stations or MTR website. Non-cross-boundary passengers shall comply with the Mainland Regulations for Transportation of Railway Passengers and all relevant rules and regulations, and all notices posted at stations or 12306 China Railway website.
