China Railway Loyalty Programme

Join China Railway loyalty programme to earn points by buying tickets and taking train journeys. Every RMB1 fare spent is entitled to five (5) points. Every 100 points is worth RMB1. Members can redeem the points for free tickets for themselves and their companions.

Note: Both Cross Boundary and Domestic Tickets are eligible for points accumulation and ticket redemption. The programme is only available on 12306 Chinese platform

Join the loyalty programme

To become a member, applicants should have an account with the 12306 online ticketing platform. Membership enrollment can be processed via China Railway 12306 website, China Railway 12306 mobile app, Membership Counter or designated Ticketing Counter at stations. Below is an illustration of registration process through the mobile app:

Step 1: Membership enrollment

• After login on China Railway 12306 mobile app, click "Member" (铁路会员) at the right-hand side of the bottom bar
  
• Click "Register" (立即注册)
  

  Note: Applicants must be 12 years old or above

Step 2: Set password

• Fill in details and set up a 6-digit "Transaction password" (交易密码). Then click "Submit" (完成)
  

  Note: A "Point password" (积分密码) is required if registration through 12306 website

Step 3: Facial verification

• After registration, follow the reminder message for facial verification by clicking "Activate" (在线激活)
  
• Check the checkbox to agree to the terms of verification and privacy policy (认证服务协议及隐私权政策), Then click "Start" (开始核验) to start facial verification
  
• The camera will be open to capture your image. Please hold your head still and ensure it is fully shown within the circle
  
• Membership will be confirmed after facial verification. You can now start to earn points
  

Set an assignee list (受让人)

Members are defaulted in the assignee list. Members can add other people to the list and redeem free tickets for them. Just follow the steps below to add "Assignee":

• After login on China Railway 12306 mobile app, click "Member" (铁路会员)
  
• Click "Assignee" (受让人)
  
• Click "Add" (添加受让人)
  
• Enter the information of the assignee and click "Submit" (完成). You may also import assignees from your passenger list, simply click "Add from Passenger List" (从乘车人中添加) and select the passengers. Click "Submit" (完成) on top right corner
  

  
  Note: Maximum eight (8) assignees (excluding the member) can be added to the list. Upon passing identity verification, assignee status will be effective after 60 days

Point checking

The loyalty programme member can earn points after ticket purchase . Only the member's ticket is eligible to points earning. Points are calculated according to the Implemented Fares in RMB. Every RMB1 fare spent is equivalent to five (5) points. The points will be automatically credited into the member's account within five days after departure date. Steps of checking points are as below:

• After login on China Railway 12306 mobile app, click "Member" (铁路会员)
  
• Click "My Point" (会员积分) to check the details
  

  
• To check points on 12306 website, click "Member Services" (会员服务) under "Membership account" (积分账户) after login

  Tips: Points are valid for 12 months from the time of credit. The points will be useable on "First In, First Out" principle

Redeem tickets with points

Once you have accumulated 10,000 points for the first time, you will be eligible for redemption for designated train tickets within the railway network (including cross boundary and domestic section). You can redeem for yourself or other passengers on the assignee list. Every 100 points is worth RMB 1.

Tickets can be redeemed on China Railway 12306 website, mobile app, at the Membership Counter or Ticketing Counter at stations. It is so easy to redeem the tickets with points online. The eligible trains for redemption are indicated with "兑" (Redeem) displaying next to the train number on the ticket search result page.

Step 1: Search train

• After login account on 12306 China Railway mobile app, enter date, origin and destination, and then click "Search" (查询车次) to select eligible trains with "兑" icon
  Example: Redeem ticket from Guangzhounan (廣州南) to Leiyangxi (耒阳西)
  
  

  

Step 2: Select passenger

• To redeem free ticket with points, click "Select assignee" (选择受让人). Please note that fare should be paid if clicking "Select passenger" (选择乘車人) to proceed
  
• Select the assignee and click "Submit" (完成)
  

Step 3: Confirm order

• Click "Submit" (提交订单) after selecting seat preference and checking ticket information
  
• Click "Pay by points" (積分支付) after confirmation of ticket information
  

Tips:

1. Tickets can only be redeemed by points, fare values cannot be made up with money
2. Tickets redeemed by points can be altered at the designated Ticketing Counter and Membership Counter in Mainland stations. Destination cannot be altered. New ticket must also be a ticket that can be redeemed by points. Sufficient points should be available for the alteration. If the new ticket fare is higher than the original one, points are used to pay the difference. If the new ticket fare is lower than the original one, the difference will not be refunded. 1,000 points will be collected as service fee
3. Tickets redeemed by points are non-refundable
