A Cross Boundary Ticket is a train ticket for a journey with Hong Kong West Kowloon Station as the departure or arrival station, e.g., from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Guangzhounan Station, or from Chaoshan Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
A child aged below 6 and accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or above) with a valid ticket may travel for free provided that the child does not occupy a seat. The personal identification document of the child must be provided upon ticket purchase.
A ticket is required when more than one child is travelling with an adult or when the child who is travelling for free is occupying a seat.
Fares are set in Renminbi with the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) fare being adjusted monthly subject to the prevailing exchange rate. Adjusted HKD fares will be announced on the first day of every month. For tickets sold in HKDs, the fare is the valid Implemented Fare for the current month which may not be the same as the fare on the date of travel.
For example: Passenger A bought a ticket on 28 January for the journey from Hong Kong to Guangzhounan on 5 February and paid the HKD fare at HKD260 as of January. On 1 February, HKD fare of this ticket have been adjusted upward to $265 based on changes on exchange rates. When Passenger B buy the same ticket on 3 February, he/she will pay $265.
Cross boundary passengers on high speed rail must be seated according to their seat number. Standing tickets are not available. A child who is travelling for free must be seated with other ticket holders.
Yes. A maximum of five passengers can register the same mobile phone number. Passengers aged below 18 or 60 and above are not counted in the quota.

Seats are automatically assigned by the ticketing system.
For the 12306 online ticketing platform (Chinese platform), passengers can choose seat preference (i.e window, middle or aisle seat). The system will assign seats according to your preference, subject to seat availability.
Yes. When buying a ticket at a Ticketing Counter at stations, a valid identification document of the passenger is required. Ticket Machines at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station only only accept original Home Return Permits, PRC Resident Identity Cards, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents and Electronic Passports. The personal identification documents accepted by Ticket Machines in Mainland stations are subject to the arrangements of the individual stations. Passengers are advised to check the arrangement of individual ticket agents if they are going to buy tickets from ticket agents.
If you are a 12306 registered user, you can create a Passenger List in order to buy tickets for others who have passed verifications.
Ticket machines support mobile payments and contactless credit cards. Transaction limit of contactless credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Huawei Pay and Samsung Pay is HK$1,000.

The passenger's name and his/her personal identification number cannot be altered after ticket purchase.
You cannot buy a Child Ticket alone through online ticketing platform and Ticket Machines, except Ticketing Counters at stations.
The Reimbursement Receipt will not be reissued.
