New Stations to Xianbei, Meizhouxi & Xintang
Starting from 5 January 2025, the High Speed Rail (Hong Kong Section) will expand its network with 16 new destinations including Xianbei, Meizhouxi and Xintang. Along with upgrades of existing services, passengers could travel directly between Hong Kong and 93 Mainland destinations.
Additionally, both long- and short-haul services will be further enhanced, strengthening connectivity between Hong Kong and the Mainland.

The new Xianbei route offers direct access between Hong Kong and the ancient city, Xian, where you can visit the Terracotta Army, experience the vibrant streets of the Great Tang All Day Mall, or wander at the ancient Xian City Walls. Trains to Xianbei station depart from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 09:07, arriving at 20:01. While southbound trains will depart Xianbei Station at 11:04 and arrive in Hong Kong at 21:09. Click here to view the full timetable.
[Enhanced Chaoshan Services with New Meizhouxi Route]
Among the four daily round-trip services between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Chaoshan Station, a pair of trains will re-route and terminate at the newly added Meizhouxi Station.
Known as the "World Hakka Capital", Meizhou is the ancestral home of many Hakka people who ventured across the globe. Meizhouxi Station is located near popular 5A Tourist Attractions such as the Yannanfei Tea Field's rolling hills and verdant tea plants, the Yanming Lake National Reserve, and Songkou Ancient Town. While visiting, be sure to indulge in traditional Hakka dishes like salt-baked chicken, braised pork with preserved vegetables, and tea dumplings, immersing yourself in the rich Hakka culture!
Additionally, the remaining three daily round-trip services to Chaoshan will now extend to Shantou Station. Together with existing one round-trip to Shautou, it will be totally four trains terminating in Shantou en route at Chaoshan station. [Guangzhoudong Line – New Stop at Xintang Station]
Once known as a global hub for denim manufacturing, Xintang is undergoing a transformation as it embraces new opportunities through industrial innovation. To support this growth, the Guangzhoudong route will now include a stop at Xintang Station, with one round-trip service added during morning and evening peak hours, providing greater convenience for business travellers. [Up to 108 Daily Train Services to Meet All Travel Needs]
An additional four daily round-trip services will be introduced, offering even greater flexibility for travellers. In addition to the newly launched Xianbei route, there will be one new round-trip service each for Shenzhenbei, Shanwei and Wuhan.
Following this enhancement, the daily number of train services will increase from 100 to 104 pairs of trains. On Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays, 106 pairs of trains will operate, while Saturdays will see a record of 108 pairs, accommodating diverse travel needs with ease.
[Beijingxi Sleeper Train – Shorter Journey time for a Restful Night]
Following the introduction of the Fuxing Sleeper Train service in October 2024, which featured comprehensive upgrades to both facilities and service, the Beijingxi Sleeper Train schedule has now been further optimised.
The journey time to Beijingxi has been reduced by approximately one hour, with the departure time from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station adjusted from 19:26 to 20:25. Passengers will arrive at Beijingxi Station the next morning at 06:53.
For the southbound journey, trains departing from Beijingxi station will see a 30 minute reduction in travel time, with the time arrival at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 07:12.
